Today was Crazy Hat Day at preschool. I found a pink cowgirl hat but Eliza decided to whip this up instead! She’s always surprising me with her creativity.
I borrowed the audiobook CDs from the library for this version of The Hobbit narrated by Rob Inglis. I’ve sampled a lot of TLotR’s audiobooks and he’s by far the best narrator. The books have so many characters and Rob Inglis is just brilliant at voices.I can’t wait to hear his Gollum voice. I added the first disc to my phone and I finished it by the end of the day.
After starting some BBQ pork in the crockpot, I headed over to the Stairway to Heaven. My calves are still a big sore from last week, but I went anyway. I walked up twice. I wanted to go a third time, but that second one warned me not to.
I really enjoyed my kid-free day today. There is nothing broken, no appointments today, no one upset at me, no papers due in the next week, and I’ve been cooking a lot. I had time to think today. If I was one who got bored, I might have been. But I’ve got an endless supply of ideas to keep me busy. I decided to walk Charlotte home from school. Watching my kids run in the forest is one of my favorite things.
I had a soy green tea latte before heading out to pick up the other kids.
According to Fitbit, I totally rocked today! I love that it counts stairs. It motivates me to go back to the stairs. And I’ve had at least 60 oz. of water 5 days in a row! I still need to work on my wine consumption and insomnia issues. I’m a work in progress.
