I made the most beautiful 20 lb. roast turkey! Ahh it was so good with it’s bacon fat, salt and thyme goodness slathered under the skin. It’s a turkey version of my Heart Attack Chicken! And it’s a keeper. I’m doing this for every turkey I roast from now on.
Our Thanksgiving was pretty quiet, besides Eliza’s random banshee screams, that is. I didn’t make anything interesting and even forgot to make stuffing. It was nice but I do find myself longing a bit for the days when the kids are older and will bring their own families over for Thanksgiving.
I even got the newspaper (which I gave up trying to read many years ago). I’ve never been crazy about Black Friday but I’ve gotten excited about it a few times. Usually I go to the craft/art stores or Target. But this year the only thing I managed to excited about is that PetCo has all cat litter boxes 50% off!! Aiphy is quickly growing out of her kitten box and making a huge mess in bathroom often. Part of me thinks this is sad but then again I think it’s great that I don’t really want anything… except time to use all the things I already own.
I got a 2 mile recovery run done on the treadmill. I really do enjoy running on the treadmill at a slow pace and watching Netflix. (I’m still watching Breaking Bad.) I also was so very happy that my legs weren’t sore from the stairs yesterday! Maybe my body isn’t so shocked with the extra stair/hill workouts I’m doing. I’m hoping tomorrow’s 5k is more enjoyable.
