Well, I have spent quite a bit of time worrying about the baby not moving much. But this hasn’t been the case for the past two weeks, and yet I haven’t spent much time rejoicing publicly. The same thing must have happened with Caleb because I didn’t record much about his movement beyond the first few kicks. No mention of when Shane first felt him move.
It has really been helpful to go back and read his baby journal, so I have an idea of how things will be this time around. It’s been four years since I was pregnant with him, so I’ve forgotten a lot. So, I’m determined to keep a better record of this pregnancy. I wish I had kept track of my weight with Caleb. I remember that I gained 40 pounds, but that’s it. I think I’m on track to gain the same this time around.
So, about a week ago (when she was about 20.5 weeks along) she was really moving and Shane got to feel her move! And I can tell she’s doing flips sometimes because I’ll feel the bumps all over the pace. In fact, the other day at the ultrasound, the technician sometimes had a hard time getting the shots because she was moving around so much. But, still, she isn’t as active as Caleb was. I’m so excited to find out if she will be a chill baby. I think, at the very least, that will be my perception of her, because I won’t be as clueless and nervous as I was with Caleb.
