It’s a good thing that I’ve been so calm and confident that the move to Monterey will work out just fine. lol! We’ve made so much progress in the last two days! There was a bit of an issue with the moving estimate, which came in at $16,000! The estimates for everything came in over the amount that Shane’s company will pay for, so we had to make some compromises. Most notably, staying in a hotel 50 miles away from Monterey because we can’t find anything comparable for less than $150 (versus $55) a night. But, there should be no traffic, it’s an hour closer to my mom and Derrek and Kainoa, and we’re hoping to find a rental within a week. So, it shouldn’t be that bad.
We have one more weekend left, and we were thinking about doing some touristy things like walking by the White House, which we haven’t even seen and going up to the top of the Washington Monument. But, last night we were feeling pretty beat over by the busy week we’ve had. We both really want to just relax and sleep all weekend… but we probably should go out and do something since that’s nearly impossible to do with a kid around 🙂
As for Ana, who I haven’t really written about in a while, is doing just fine. She has been very active. Seems she’s doing somersaults. I’m starting to think she’s going to be hyperactive like Caleb. But, that’s okay, at least we’re used to having an energetic kid.
By the way, it’s 4 am and I’m up again! This is the second night in a row. But, I’m getting much better at handling it. It was actually my turn to sleep in a little yesterday morning, but Shane forgot to turn his alarm off and woke me up. And I didn’t hurt him! Wasn’t that good of me? If I can manage to control myself when I’m sleep-deprived after Ana comes, all this insomnia will have been well worth it.
