I adore this Bedtime Story Pajama pattern (which is unfortunately out of print) by Oliver + S. I love that Liesl Gibson, the designer, earned her degree at NY’s Fashion Institute of Technology and also worked as a designer for Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. I feel confident that the patterns are actually going to fit and the construction will be clever and solid.
So, the Bedtime Story Pajama pattern is out of print and I couldn’t even find any on eBay. I guess that’s a lesson to not wait too long to buy an Oliver + S pattern if you really love it.
**Update** Looks like Stonemountain and Daughter Fabrics in Berkely, CA has some. I called to make sure they have some in stock and they have both sizes. It comes in “6mo-3T” and “4-8”.
Over the last few weeks, I made Caleb two sets of pajamas. He’s 6.5 years old and recently went through a growth spurt. It really seemed like he went to bed one night with his pants hanging to his ankles and then woke up with them hanging mid-calf.
I used flannel for the one above and some flame-retardant fabric I found on sale at Joann’s.
Caleb really loves his pajamas. I thought Shane would hate them because of the ties. They tie in two places, once under each arm. But, he thinks they’re awesome because they look “Kung-Fuey”. Ok, well that’s actually the term I used. Besides, it’s easy enough for him to send Caleb to me to be tied up.
They were pretty quick and easy to whip up. Nothing tricky and the instruction were clear and easy to follow.
Now to decide which Oliver + S pattern to try out next!
