I have probably mentioned that I haven’t been running. About once a week I do something active with Eliza. Climb the Stairway to Heaven or go hiking or go for a bike ride. Actually, cycling is new. We went for our first ride a few days ago and that was not so much fun with the hills.
So I packed my bike and the Weehoo into the van. It fit!! One less excuse for me to be lazy.
We went down to Lover’s Point and rode 2 miles to Fisherman’s Wharf. We rode a total of 4.26 miles. It’s amazing how I could feel every little incline and decline pulling the trailer. The Weehoo does have pedals but mostly Eliza spins them backwards, which is no help at all.
There was a guy running in front of us on the way back. I wanted to take a picture but I didn’t have any pockets so my phone was in the Weehoo. Anyway, the guy was running pretty fast (even though it didn’t look like it, he made it look easy) and I was pedaling so slowly, that it took me about half a mile to pass him even though he started about 100 feet in front of me. It was pretty funny.
After our ride we sat at Lover’s Point and ate bananas.
We stopped at the grocery store on the way home and scored some awesome smashed canned foods. They reduce them to $0.17 or $0.27. I bought all the cans and got 15 packs of that toddler yogurt (for $0.17), which has veggies and fruit mixed in. This totally made my day!
I had about 15 minutes to rest before picking Charlotte up from school so I set Eliza up with a show and laid in bed with Aiphy and read Little Bee, which is a really good book.
