Over the past eleven days, I’ve run a total of 2.5 miles over two runs. I’ve been super busy being sick.
I was hoping it would go away after a week but Shane thinks we actually have the flu and then I chatted with a lady at The Treadmill who has the same symptoms and she took two weeks off from running and still isn’t better! So I’m trying to be patient and not think about how far back in the C25K program I’ll have to go.
I had to take Charlotte in to see the doctor because she was complaining about ear pain. She was like this for about 2 seconds. The rest of the time she was climbing under chairs and spinning around while singing “Ring around the rosie, pop goes the weasel (or pocket full of weasels), ashes ashes we all fall down!”
And because it makes perfect sense that I should need another pair of running shoes while I’m not running…
I actually really needed another pair of road shoes because my Asics Neo Gel 33s were hurting my feet. I even wore my Inov8 TrailRoc 236s out on the road to test whether my feet would hurt. And they didn’t. And if you’re wondering, wearing my TrailRocs on the road were not nearly as awesome as running them on trails. I won’t be doing that again.
So about my new Merrell Pace Glove 2! LOVE!! I wore them all day yesterday to try them out and my feet didn’t hurt like they do in the Asics. I have to admit they were a little stiff this morning, but not nearly as bad. What is it with my feet?
Anyway, they feel… well, like a glove. They are super light and make me want to go fast.
My kids benefitted from this. Usually when they injure themselves, I’ll stay where I am, ask them if they’re bleeding and when they tell me “No.” I tell them to “Shake it off.” But yesterday, I took every opportunity to sprint over to them to tell them to “Shake it off.”
