You may or may not remember Caleb’s reaction to shots. I didn’t describe it in full detail in the post, but believe me, it was traumatic for all parties. He’s not into pain, no matter how many times I call him “woosy”. Just kidding 🙂 I don’t call him that. But, I do often tell him that if it isn’t bleeding, then he should stop crying or at least go to his room so I don’t have to hear him cry. Just kidding on that one too… sorta.
Anyway, he fell off his bike and got this awesome strawberry. Shane was grilling at the time, so he sent him in for me to clean it up. Normally, Shane would take care of this kind of thing because I’m never very sympathetic when he hurts himself. Maybe cause he’s a boy. I just think he should suck it up and move on. So, when he came crying to me I exclaimed,
“Wow! That’s so fantastic Caleb! Your first strawberry! You know what this means?”
And he manages to whimper out a “Whaaaaat?”
“You’re an official Big Boy now! Aren’t you so excited?”
So, what else could I have done, but get the camera out and make a record of this momentous occasion? Awesome, huh?
And yes, after that I sprayed some medicine on it that made it stop hurting so much. No bandaid though. Why? Because Caleb is deathly afraid of bandaids. He’s terrified of them coming off because they stick to the skin and hurt.
