Guess who dressed themselves again! She would not put a top on and if she wasn’t kid #4 I might have some fight left. But she is and I don’t.
I remembered to take Charlotte to her dance class yesterday! Here she is doing spins while holding an invisible beach ball. I think I need to get a book about ballet from the library so I can learn the proper names for the moves.
While Charlotte had her class, Eliza and I walked over to the library. I got the recommended reading for my drawing class: Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. And got Caleb a variety of kid’s graphic novels. He still doesn’t like to read and I’m hoping this might get him a little excited.
I had my second drawing class last night and it was awkward. First we practiced “blind contour” drawing. This is where you draw in one continuous line while looking only at the object. You don’t look at your drawing until you are done. It’s actually quite difficult. But I can see that you could get a lot better with practice.
The top drawing is of a leaf-shaped wood plate and the bottom is of a metal water kettle. That one was really tough.
Then we practiced “modified blind contour” drawing. For this style I was allowed to look at the paper to place my pencil when I started a new line. These two drawings are of a duck-shaped planter.
And then we did “modified blind contour” drawings of a classmate. I forgot one of her eyeballs. Whoopsy.
