Let’s start this post off with a gigantic 1+ pound chocolate bar with the most delicious roasted almonds. You’re welcome.
Do you have a Trader Joe’s near you? It makes me sad to think that not everyone has easy access to one. You should comment your sad story and I think it would be fun to have a giveaway for a couple of these when I get back from my vaca next week. Ooooh! And I’ll throw in some of my other favorite TJ’s stuff! Cookie butter! Butter Waffle Cookies! Chai Latte Mix! Yum!
Can you tell it’s after bedtime, I’m having a glass of wine and I’m feeling pretty darn happy?
I had to show you this most delicious looking pizza I made this week…
I know this is going to be a shock to you because I can hardly believe it myself. But the two males in the house each had a complaint! One said too thick and the other said the sauce was weird (ran out of my normal canned tomatoes). Bah! I think they’re weird.
This week was Eliza’s 1st birthday!! I can’t stop feeling bad that I’ve taken about 3 pictures of her in the last two months. And I’ve hardly blogged about her so I’ll have not much to say if I ever get her scrapbook put together… in 12 years or so.
Anyway, no birthday would be complete without smashed cake! Just not the kind you expect. Shane (not me!) left the cupcakes on the counter, peaking over the edge just enough to entice the attention of a certain 2.5 year old.
Luckily we only lost one cupcake and there was one that appeared unharmed. Eliza got that one of course.
I was really impressed at how she ate the whole cupcake! She’s the first.
We had a simple celebration on her actual birthday, which was Thursday. We got her two presents. It was actually quite difficult to buy gifts for a fourth child. I mean, I was just yelling at the kids that they would get no more than one gift for Christmas this year because it’s just insane how many toys they have.
So we got her this and this. It’s quite amazing actually that we didn’t have a See ‘n Say. Of course, the older kids haven’t let Eliza play with it much. But she loves her new balls. And she *really* liked the wrapping paper.
We went to Happy Hallow Park and Zoo on Saturday for her birthday also. It was about 78 degrees and we all about passed out in the heat. It just takes one day of that to make me thankful we will in the Monterey area. Sweating is icky.
Eliza got to ride a few rides! It was really cute that Ana kept her arm around her almost the entire ride. It was one of those moments that I felt that having so many kids was worth it. It’ll be fun to watch them all grow up together.
She’s standing more but I think it’ll be a few more months before she’s walking. She’s really not that interested.
