Two weeks ago we had a leak in a water pipe. We were without water for one week. It really sucked. Running water in your home is one of those things you take for granted. Just imagine not being able to take a shower, brush your teeth, wash clothes and worst of all… not using the dishwasher!! 🙂
And there was the stress of the possibility that the leak was under the foundation (we have no crawl space), which would have meant them tearing up the foundation to find the leak. We had two plumbers trying to convince us that we needed to just replace the plumbing for about $10,000. Luckily, the leak was outside and it only cost us about $500. Why does it seem that every time something breaks, it costs $500? Anyway, we got really lucky, so we didn’t mind paying ONLY $500.
And then this week I got violently sick. Nausea, vomiting, chills, fever of 102.8. Turns out I have mastitis. Have any of you moms had it? It was awful. I’m on day two now and feel better after getting a shot of antibiotics and being on antibiotic pills. I felt so weak and Shane had to take off work to help me with the kids.
Well, with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, I hope all the drama with take a break for while. I’m so looking forward to baking and possibly sewing some Christmas presents.
