About a week ago, in the evening, Eliza was a little fussy. She flailed her arms around while she tried to eat. She acted like she was done eating but then three minutes later she would fuss and then attack as if I hadn’t fed her in two days. And then after I fed her 57 times and made sure she had a fresh diaper and clothes, she still fussed.
Why am I explaining this is such great detail? Because I’m amazed that this was the first time she has acted like this. She was 5 weeks 6 days old. It took my amazingly good baby almost six weeks to get fussy!! I feel like the luckiest mommy in the world to have such an easy baby.
She’s now 6.5 weeks and still getting a little fussy but sleeps more than any 6.5 week old baby has in the history of humankind. She usually lets me sleep from 10pm to 6am with one wake up around 2am or 3am. How did I get so lucky?
She had an appointment a few days ago and she weighed 10 lb. 4 oz., which is in the 61st percentile and was 22.25″ long, which is in the 72nd percentile. Makes me feel good to know she’s growing well. Maybe that’s why she’s so exhausted. She’s so busy growing (and eating and pooping and looking so darn cute).
We took the kids to the San Jose Children’s Museum yesterday and she insisted on being carried around and then fell asleep. (I made it b&w because the awful exposure made her look very unattractive, which we all know is far from reality. Sometimes cameras behave very badly.)
