See this cute little girl? She is instigator to my crafty clutter. She likes to move things. She’ll go into my drawers and climb on my desk and grab something very useful and deposit it somewhere very inconvenient. (Yes Mom, I’ve trimmed her bangs since taking this picture)
I figured the key to my happiness wasn’t to actually get organized, but to stay organized. So, over a few weeks I collected various containers to harness the chaos.
I got this green beast from Fabric.com when they had a 25% off coupon code. I knew I had to have it when I read a reviewer on Amazon.com say the latches were kinda hard to open. Perfect for curious little fingers.
And here’s where my evil genius comes into play. Caleb has been desperate to earn some money to buy baseball and Pokemon cards. He’s also been suffering from my no-TV-after-school ban. I give him four choices: (1) find something to do (2) pick something off the “stuff to do besides rot your brain watching TV” list I made (3) do some chores or (4) help me with my to-do list and earn $1. About 100% of the time I offer option #4, he choses that. **evil laughter**
Here was his first task. Organize my buttons. Glad I didn’t have to do that.
And he helped me organize my fat quarters.
Next is to tackle my bookcase where I store my fabric. I have a feeling my wallet is about to get lighter.
