I was inspired by the arrival of The Whole Foods Diet*. I packed a healthy breakfast AND lunch! Yay me! (It’s a bit ridiculous how difficult this seems.)
Breakfast wasn’t winning on looks, but it was yum. 1/3 cup oatmeal, 2/3 cup vanilla soy milk, 1 Tbsp coconut manna*, and dash of salt.
Lunch was pretty and tasty. Not Chili Cheese Fritos tasty. Or hot fudge brownie sundae tasty. Or even Bacon Alfredo tasty. I have some work to do on retraining my tastebuds, but I ate it. The sandwich was turkey with Kale Macadamia Nut Pesto. I’ll post the recipe once I’ve perfected it.
I didn’t mention that my Thursday run last week was not great. I had a really bad feeding day and from the start I felt weak. Yesterday’s run was much easier, because I chose better food choices, I’m sure. Although… I did have some tummy issues (actually intestinal, but tummy sounds so much cuter), which was strange for me. The only other time this has happened was when I ran was the Double Road Race. It really stinks that I didn’t write a race recap for that because I actually did pretty good. I think I averaged 9:45 per mile for the 10k, which is very fast for me. Ana and Caleb ran the mile and they both got 1st place in their age divisions! WHY didn’t I write about it?!
Anyway, after the 10k, we got a little rest before the 5k. Apparently, my body was expecting me to spend some quality time in a porta potty. That 5k was the hardest 3.1 miles of my life.
So, this happened to me yesterday and I have no idea why. But hopefully it’ll never happen again cause that sucked.
