I didn’t always like the idea of reading with an electronic device. I love the feel of a paper book in my hand and I like dog-earring and underlining words and phrases that stick out to me. I like the idea of a worn book that has been read several times by many people and that has been obviously loved.
But the truth is, having an electronic device is convenient. I hadn’t really wanted a Kindle. Not the way that I’ve wanted a KitchenAid stand mixer or wanted a cat when I was 10 years old. But when the Kindles were on sale for Black Friday, I got a Kindle Fire because it plays TV shows and movies and I thought it might come in handy with the kids.
A few months later, I’m ready to hand over the Kindle Fire to Shane and I want to downgrade to the Kindle Paperweight so I can read in the sun. I don’t need to watch shows on it. I actually like to read on it.
My favorite features are that you can highlight passages and easily find them later. And the best part is that there is a built-in dictionary! Maybe I’m a nerd for feeling this way, but I like learning new words.
I already loved my Kindle. And then!!
I found out recently that I can install a “Send to Kindle” button for my Chrome browser!!
You can send an article or document straight from your internet browser, desktop or smart phone. You can also add a “Send to Kindle” button to your blog.
Here are a few examples of how I used Send to Kindle:
I found a great article for writing a proper book review. I think it will be a great resource. Send to Kindle!
So, if you have a Kindle or use the Kindle app I implore you to try it out. And let me know how much you love it!
