I’m pretty sure I’m in real labor now. This has been the most confusing end to a pregnancy ever. With Caleb and Ana, I felt fantastic up until I hit labor. And when it did come, there was no mistaking it.
But this one? It’s been about five days now that I’ve had signs that Charlotte would be here soon. Last night I was having terrible pains from her being so low and pushing on my bladder. I started getting nervous that my mom wasn’t here and having to deal with going to the hospital in the middle of the night with the two kids.
But I had a great night sleep!
My mom and I did decide that it’s time for her to come and help now though. Perfect timing actually. She called at 3pm to say she was leaving and I just happened to start the real contractions around then.
Of course that’s when I realized that I had better hurry and clean up the kitchen, bake that Amish Friendship Bread that I was supposed to bake yesterday and finish packing my bag for the hospital!
Then I was having tons of contractions. Better sit down and rest. Okay, now it’s about every 10 minutes.
Starting to get terrified about giving birth without an epidural. Must remember that a few hours of intense pain is better than a year of recovery, which is what happened with Caleb when I had an epidural. It just doesn’t work well for me.
