This is our morning ritual. I make the tiniest of movements after the sun has started to rise and Aiphy bulldozers her way under the covers and nuzzles up to me. I do so love her.
I’ve been crafting lately! I finished the minky blankets for Caleb and Blake and have been working on these Wine & Roses Mitts for my mom. I’m using Jade Sapphire Mongolian 2-ply Cashmere. I started these years ago. So many years I can’t even guess how many. I didn’t realize until I had kids how much brain it takes to knit, especially delicate lace patterns like this. So I haven’t done much knitting in the past decade.
Even though I’ve frogged the equivalent of a dozen of these gloves, I’m almost done and thus determined to finish… before the year is done.
Here is the other half, which I finished some time ago. I added one section of diamonds to the hand and also made the thumb longer.
I had a pair of these in the cream colorway and they were my absolute favorite gloves. They’re warm but you still have use of your fingers. I lost them on my way to work when I commuted on the DC Metro from Arlington to Union Station. I still haven’t gotten over it. I just hope someone found them and knew how valuable they are and used them. $50 worth of cashmere yarn!! And hours and hours of knitting!! *sigh* I’m going to make myself another beloved pair after I’m done with these.
Ana wrote a book for Granny. But the pages started to get trashed so we decided to create a book with iBook Author. It was fun! Charlotte insisted on making one after Ana and I were done. She made the book for her teacher and took it to school. I forgot to take a picture. And Eliza made one too.
I used a two-column template with the text on the left and the illustrations on the right. (The text was so short Ana illustrated on the bottom for this page.) I’m trying to create a template where the pages are half the size.
I cleaned up the girl’s bookshelf last week. It made me so mad whenever I looked at the bottom shelf. But instead of fixing it, I just ignored it. So I felt so good when I finally took the time to clean it up.
And here is the result! I hope it will stay like this for a long time…
