Caleb has settled on calling the cat Isabella. Not sure how long that’ll last. But I can’t stop myself from calling her Meow since that is what Ana calls her. But what ever her name is, she seems to part of our family now.
I do get a little nervous about her being an outdoor cat. What’s to stop her from finding a new family? How long will it take before she sees us as her forever family?
The other day I went outside to see if she was still hanging out in the yard. I couldn’t find her. I felt disappointed thinking that she wondered off. But then I heard her little cry. She was stuck in one of the oak trees. There was a noisy crow up there and I think she was trying to catch him. Never mind that those crows are three times as big as she is!
I took her to the vet yesterday. I went in thinking I was only getting a $56 office visit. I ended up paying $171. NOT including shots! They don’t bother to say “I’m putting this $17 stain in her eye. And now I’m shining this blue light in her eye that’ll cost you $22. And here’s some ointment that costs $18.”
She’s got a black spot on her cornea. Fortunately, it’s not an ulcer or anything serious.
Anyway, I’ll chat more about her later. I’m a bit in a rush right now. She’s quite different from any cat I’ve met, so I’ve got some interesting tidbits. Stay tuned…
