On Saturday we visited two of my most favorite people. My aunt and uncle. My Uncle Ron is dyslexic and autistic and he’s a genius. He wrote the book The Gift of Dylexia, if you’ve happened to hear of it.
He has developed a device to help people who are so severely autistic that they are unable to communicate verbally. Here is Caleb and Uncle Ron wearing the magnifying glasses that he uses to build them. It’s called the NOIT and you can learn more here is you like.
My aunt is half Korean and since I lived in Korea for two years and learned to love Korean food, we went to a Korean market. It’s much bigger than my local one so it was fun to look at all the goodies.
I found some honey powder to put in my tea! I’m very excited about this! It’s the little things in life.
My aunt showed me this beautiful quilt that she got as a gift. Beautiful! I love quilts with simple patterns but striking color placement. It was even quilted with a sewing machine (not a quilt machine). I love the charmingly irregular swirls.
That was Saturday. Sunday was my over-distance run. 45 minutes! Longest run ever. I still can’t believe I did it.
Sunday: Salisbury Steak with mashed potatoes (not sure how I managed to make only *two* recipes last week. whoopsy!)
Monday: leftovers (busy night with Cub Scout meeting and “save the forest” meeting)
Tuesday: Baked Potato Soup
Thursday: Smoked Paprika Baked Chicken
Shane’s Lunch for the week: Marinated Chicken
