We’ve been spending a lot of time outside. For some strange reason my kids won’t play in our awesome backyard. We have a playhouse, play kitchen, two swings, tons of dirt and rocks, but they would rather play out in the street. Thankfully we live at a dead end so it’s no big deal to let the little ones out there.
The boys were gone last weekend and so here’s how the girls “played” while the rambunctious boy was gone…
I do need to supervise and for the past few weeks have spent way too much time playing Scrabble and stalking FB and Instagram on my phone. I started to feel like I was wasting my life away so I had a brilliant idea to create a craft station!
I cannot adequately express to you how excited I am about this. My dad built this as a garden station for my sister-in-law but they had to move to an apartment so I get to use it until they have a place to keep it.
I don’t really like gardening, mostly because I kill most everything. But I do like to craft. So I set this up as my doll-making station. It works out nicely because I get to move all this stuff out of the house.
And I have an excellent view of the kids. Of course, the girls like to try to turn it into their coloring and drawing station.
The older girls across the street are really interested in how I make dolls so I have them watching me make this one and I’ll try to have a doll-making class for them later!
