I am officially into training for the Big Sur 10.6-miler. I’m trying not to think about how I’m supposed to run 10.6 miles non-stop in 4 months. Seems daunting considering I haven’t run more than 4.46 miles. Ever.
I did 3 miles last night. My shin muscles were burning immediately. Two days after my trail run that was actually a hike, my legs are still not recovered.
I’m actually really excited about this. Because I came home feeling like I hadn’t worked hard enough. I didn’t actually run very much but apparently I worked some muscles harder than they’ve ever been worked. I might get addicted to hiking mountains.
I started watching a new series on Netflix called The Great Queen Seon Deok. My dad recommended it and I really needed to start watching something else because Breaking Bad is just not my thing.
As far as training goes, I’ll have to somehow incorporate runs at the Stairway to Heaven and mountain hikes. But still need to work that out with my coach.
I’m up to 21 pushups with the 30-day push-up challenge. And I’m working on being able to do a real pull-up. Shane gave this to me for Christmas. That’s not going so well. I have no idea what I’m doing. This is as far as I can go…
Ana is so enthusiastic about getting involved when she sees me exercising. She begs (and whines) to do pull-ups. She’s actually gotten me to do them a few times throughout the day. I had Charlotte take a picture of us. She took 27 pictures and they all looked exactly like this…
I’ve been trying something new with my blogging. I prep a new post and upload pictures at night after the kids go to bed. My brain is usually too fried by then to write anything. Then I wake up at 6am and write the post. It’s worked really well so far.
But last night Shane and I stay up way too late watching the first episode of Downton Abbey’s season four!! Very excited that it is back!
So anyway, I didn’t get up at 6am this morning and didn’t get a chance to finish writing this post. I set the girls up in my room with a Team Umizoomi episode and did a few little tweaks. It seemed like it was only about 10 minutes.
When I went to check on them, I find my bed like this…
Charlotte. She found my stash of Trader Joe’s petite cocoa batons. And then she got all nice and cozy in my bed and crushed them all up. By the looks of it, I’m not sure she actually got any in her mouth.
I scolded her and she says, “Sorry Mommy.” And then, “It’s okay. It’s just okay.”
Big sigh. And I wonder my dear Charlotte, what do you have in store for us when you are a teenager?
P.S. Thank you. Because of you I took these pictures and imagined you laughing instead of losing my mind and temper.
What and when is your next race?
What do you like to watch (or listen to) while you run on a treadmill?
What time do you get up?
Do you love Downton Abbey? If not, what’s wrong with you?
