I’m in a transition period with my running. In my last post I wrote about and then deleted why I didn’t run for three days in a row last week and how I feel like I’m floundering. I erased it because sometimes I get sick of hearing myself over analyze things that should actually be very simple. So… to get to the point, I’m no longer working with a coach. I’m going solo and I think it’s best for everyone involved since I was increasingly not following the plan anyway.
I think there are a lot of reasons for my lack of enthusiasm for running, but I’d rather focus on how I’m trying to get that enthusiasm back. I love the idea of running everyday. Even if it’s just 1 mile. I think it will help me to not skip my runs whenever I get discouraged.
I don’t think I will start this week since I want to ease my body into it, but I plan to do two 1-mile runs with two non-running days and three longer run days.
Yesterday I took Coco out for a 1-mile run. I was able to keep the pace between 11 and 12-minutes. I think all the slow treadmill running is helping me to feel more comfortable keeping that kind of pace. It took us 11 minutes and 14 seconds.
Coco did so good and I’m so excited about running with her more! And there it is… Enthusiasm!!
My dad also came to visit and brought a lot of goodies. Cucumber kim chee and kimbap (maki sushi).
He brought me two varieties of purple sweet potato! I can’t express to you how much I love these. I eat one a day. The ones with the white skin are a little more expensive at $2 a pound (the purple skinned ones are $1.66 lb). I think they are a little sweeter and creamier. I think it’s cool how they have white and purple meat.
I think we have enough bananas and apples now. At least for the next four days.
I stuffed myself with all the goodies. I love how I can gorge on healthy foods and not feel as sick as eating just one McChicken sandwich.
