(similar to McCall’s 6387)
My friend Stephanie inspired me to try this pattern out. She sells the most adorable handmade dresses at her Etsy shop called Lily’s Laundry. She’s seriously talented at combining fabrics from different collections and even manufacturers.
I’m not so talented and stuck with fabrics from the same collection: Michael Miller’s Flora & Fauna. (Luna Moths, Blossoms in Mustard and Hive in Raspberry)
At first, Ana violently protested wearing this beautiful dress. So, I took it off. Then she violently protested me taking said beautiful dress off. I love the terrible twos. I am constantly haunted by Shane’s comment that he hopes her behavior isn’t a sign of things to come when puberty hits. Seriously. She’s an emotional mess.
Anyway, she likes to balance the indiscriminate crying and eardrum shattering screams with uber cuteness. Like her twirling. Ahhhh… is there anything cuter than a little girl twirling in a dress?
I can’t wait for Charlotte to start walking so I can make them coordinating dresses. And this is what makes all the stress of raising two girls 16 months apart worth it.
I just finished another knot dress (with an apron this time) with organic cotton from Birch Fabric’s Marine collection! I’ll take pictures soon.
