I had the Best Run Ever. It was a breakthrough for me. For the first time ever, I ran two miles and didn’t once have the urge to walk. I did a trail run and the first mile was up 204 ft. elevation. The last 30 seconds or so I really wanted to turn around, but I didn’t want to walk.
The trick for me was that my feet hurt as soon as I started to run. This made me slow my pace. I’ve been starting off at about an 8 min/mile pace, but I started off at about 10:30 min/mile this time. I know now that my “easy” run on Monday wasn’t really an easy run. This was an easy run.
I came home super excited about about Friday’s run. I even made plans with Shane that I would run out towards Asilomar and see how far I can go. Then he’d pick me up.
And then my running coach broke my heart. Seriously. My eyes burned with sadness. He told me not to run for four days to give my feet a rest.
Maybe I’ll find some good new Nike Training Center workouts and work on my Hundred Pushups workout.
Besides the run, I also did upper body weights at the gym and the Ab Burner workout.
I was so proud of Eliza for eating a frozen yogurt tube all by herself. And she was really proud of herself too.
The weather was so nice yesterday. My neighbor took the older kids to Carmel Valley for some pool play and I filled up the kiddie pool for the little ones. My other neighbor figured out that if we put the kiddie pool on the asphalt, the water warms up really quickly.
Charlotte declared it backwards clothes day.
This is what Charlotte typically does with her lunch. I want to say I find this adorable, but…
Do you remember the first time you ran without wanting to walk?
How do you stay fit when you can’t run?
Do your kids destroy their food rather than eat it?
