I was making pizza the other night. The homemade kind with pizza dough made from scratch and pizza sauce made in my Martha Stewart Blue blender. I then realized that we were out of jalapenos, which Shane likes on his pizza with pepperoni.
I offered to watch the three kids while he ran to the store to pick some up. But to my shock, he took all three kids with him! This doesn’t usually happen. In fact, it has never happened! Not that he hasn’t gone anywhere with all three, but it’s usually a big production that has been planned over several days.
I didn’t argue since I figure it’s good practice for the 7 days he’ll be alone with them when I go to Hawaii in two months for my best friend’s wedding. **squeals of excitement**
So anyway, he came back and I asked…
Me: So… how’d it go?
Me: Really? (thinking maybe he might be better at this SAHM thing than I am because I’m not sure I’d ever characterize a trip to the grocery store with three kids as “good”. )
Shane: Yeah, it’s easy to take a bunch of kids to the grocery store as long as you buy them everything they want. See? Ice cream. Root beer. And Cookie Crisp.
Nicely played, my love. Nicely played.
