Soccer game season has officially begun! This year Ana is playing and we get to experience the joy of juggling multiple games, as we’ve watched so many other parents do. The games were timed nicely and we were all able to see Ana’s game.
I was so excited to watch her game since 4-year-olds usually don’t have a clue about playing positions or dribbling the ball. But apparently times have changed and people are sending their kids to soccer boot camp. Or something. Because three of the boys dominated, one of them scored 9 goals.
Ana’s toe briefing made contact with the ball twice. And the thankfully all the kids got to kick the ball in the goal at the end of the game.
Caleb’s game was right about the time that Eliza takes a nap, so I took just Ana and the neighbor’s girl to watch him. Of course, we were horrible and spent much of the time watching ballet and gymnastics on YouTube and french braiding hair.
But I did manage to watch Caleb play and even yelled out some encouragement. Which always surprises me when it comes out because I was always too ashamed to yell out at football games when I was in high school.
I love that motherhood makes me not care what other people think of me. Or my kids.
I also went for a long (to me) run on Sunday. This was by far my most happiest run yet. I can’t wait to tell you all about it. I’ll post the details on Friday. Here’s a sneak peek…
Sunday: Miso soup with udon noodles
Monday: Lamb Keema (didn’t get to make this last week)
Wednesday: Split Pea Soup with Sausage (slow cooker)
Friday: Five-Spice Roast Chicken
Shane’s Lunch for the week: Chili
