I headed out to Ana’s soccer game with the three older kids. “This will be great!” I thought. “I’m so relieved that the kids are getting older and I can finally take them out in public and not wonder when When WHEN will this get easier?” I thought.
It all started with Charlotte whining about the wet cut grass getting stuck to her sockless feet. Then Caleb chimed in about the soccer balls being covered in cut grass.
This totally unnecessary whining led to my normally go-with-the-flow girl, Ana, to have a melt down about her “dirty” soccer shoes and ball. She spent the first half of the game like this…
Eventually I called Shane for back-up. He managed to get her to stand up and kick the ball around with him. Two seconds later Charlotte starts up her crying again. Ana starts up her crying. Shane gives me The Look. You know, the get-that-kid-outta-here-before-I-lose-it look.
And so Charlotte, Eliza and I went home.
Later that day, I was able to repair a large pile of damaged clothing. I’ll (hopefully) write up a tutorial. I did all of the repairs without a sewing machine.
