This week started off badly because I discovered we had lice on Tuesday. But I caught up with some awesome runs at the end of the week.
Saturday’s run was the best!! My longest distance ever (at seven miles) and I hadn’t run outside in about a month so it felt so good. The weather was perfectly cool at 61 degrees with pockets of cold air that were so refreshing. I tried to keep it slow at between 11:00 and 12:00 min. pace. But I ended up with an average pace of 10:47. It just felt so good to be outside.
I ran down Forest Avenue to Lover’s Point and then along the coast to Asilomar and then through Pebble Beach back to my house. I’m so lucky to live where I do. We’re not rich but we are lucky enough to live in a somewhat run-down neighborhood that butts up to the Pebble Beach property line. Our realtor said our neighborhood is sometimes referred to as the “Poorman’s Pebble Beach”. Well… in this case, I don’t mind at all being a “poorman”.
I’m happy to have gotten in 14 miles for the week. I’m going to try for 17 next week with another 7-miler. Hopefully I’ll get to run outside again.
