This morning I got out of bed before 7am! I enlisted help from the neighborhood birds, who begin chirping at precisely 5:34am. I managed to snooze another hour, but it was still earlier than usual. I used to stuff my ears with earplugs when they started up, but I got smart and put them in the bathroom rather than on my night stand. I made some coffee (with coconut cream and a little coconut sugar) and walked 2 miles on the treadmill while watching Marie Antoinette, one of the few movies I can watch over and over.
Then we ran a few errands including picking up my birthday juicer!!! I forgot to take a picture of it but it’s this Breville juicer. I made some juice with all this! The broccoli and Brussels sprouts were left over from something else, so I decided to throw them in. I thought I was probably making a big mistake, but the juice was very drinkable. I think the apple and lemon made it taste more like a juice with the sweet and tangy.
This juicer is a centrifugal juicer, rather than a masticating juicer. So it doesn’t do some veggies very well, like leafy greens. But it’s supposedly a lot quicker at getting juice so I think this will work out nicely with the kids. Even though I can’t do kale and herbs, I can do carrots, spinach, cucumber and beets.
I finished pulling up the nail beds and scraping up the glued carpet pad. The floor is still quite a mess. There is a lot of glue residue.
A lot of these divets too, which breaks my heart! I’m so thankful that Dad happens to be a mason and I can trust that he’ll help me bring this beautiful floor back to life.
This is the “before” picture. You can see what a sad and tragic mess it is.
Also got to FaceTime with the girls and Shane for a little bit!
