Even though I’ve known for a long time that this saying is true, I still find it interesting when I see proof of it. A few months ago, I made Caleb four pajama pants. I bought all the material at Joann’s. I made one pant with flame-retardant fabric that was quite expensive ($8), one pant with non-pill fleece that was less expensive ($5), and two with the super cheap ($3) flannel. I pre-washed all the fabric before I sewed the pants together.
And the flannel totally sucks! I’ll never buy it again! It has faded very badly and shrunk terribly. I did make the cuffs so that I can let them out. But the top part has actually shrunk also, which for some reason you can’t really tell in the picture, but believe me it has.
