There are five more days of the Backyard Project that I need to post. It became so exhausting that I put it on the side for now. By Saturday my thighs burned if I squatted for more than 10 seconds and my right arm wouldn’t cooperate. And there will still two more days at that point. It felt great!
I’m working on a new goal for exercising. It’s not just about running; I’m also going to take barre classes, run stairs and hike. I also want to run a few local races every year, like the Big Sur Half Marathon and all the races (5K, 9-miler, 21-miler and marathon) of the Big Sur Marathon. I entered a lottery for Wharf to Wharf in Santa Cruz, which is a 6-mile race. I won’t know if I got in until April 13th. But I went ahead and made a run plan to prepare since 6 miles is exactly where I had previously decided I wanted to go with my running. (I just love me some rainbow.)
I did my first run this morning, which is a big deal considering how much a deplore running in the morning. It’s a lot easier since I’ve been getting up early and walking 1-2 miles on the treadmill for a while now. I finished House last night, so I started watching House of Cards again. I’m not loving this season as much. I think Frank and Claire’s despicableness is starting to wear on me.
These are my new Mizunos. Aren’t they so pretty? I adore them.
After frantically trying to make progress on laundry and then calling defeat, I took Eliza out to Point Lobos. It was so crowded, there was no parking when we first drove through. Eliza said “Oh shoot! Now what?” Another moment where I was so glad that I don’t swear.
Eventually we did find parking but we had to walk a short trail to get to our favorite beach.
It was chilly and windy, but gorgeous as usual.
Then we went home, I set Eliza up with some music videos and I laid on my bedroom floor while I uploaded pictures for this post and ate the biggest and best chocolate raisins, which are from Costco.
