Yesterday was one of those mornings where I think I have plenty of time… until I realize I’m running late. I really need to focus on eating breakfast and this one (celery and tuna) has proved to be a winner, for taste and how it makes me feel. But I had to pack it up and eat it in the van after I dropped the girls off at school.
After my breakfast I visited my old friend, Stairway to Heaven. I walked up twice. My body clearly senses it’s about to turn 40 in a few weeks. It has never been that tiring. But I know if I visit my friend more often, she will show me kindness.
Although I did a great job packing my breakfast, I completely forgot about lunch, which I really needed since right after the stairs, I had to go to school and wouldn’t be home until almost 2:30pm. I did have a Lara bar stashed in the van, at least. I really liked this flavor. But I have to say how annoying it is that these bars are named after desserts.
When I got home, I made a naughty salad with ranch dressing and cheese. It also had some good stuff like spinach, romaine lettuce, beet greens, and tomatoes. There was also chicken, which I judge to be neutral.
I was still really hungry so I had half of a wheat bagel with peanut butter, which is what Shane eats for breakfast. I actually didn’t care for the bagel.
On the way to drop Caleb off at gymnastics, he was asking Siri dumb questions. I thought this one was actually really funny.
We went to the gym and I did a walk/run for 30 minutes. Alternating 1 min. walk and 2 min. run. I have a loose schedule but I’m going to play it by ear according to what my nearly 40 year old body says. I feel like I’ve been lazy for so long and my body has changed so much, that I need to get to know it again.
The girls had Open House at school.
This is my favorite artwork of Charlotte’s. The kids were given paper in the shape of a “1” and two “0”s (I think it was for the 100th day of school). They had to use their imagination and create a picture. Charlotte did a bathroom scene! That kid is so funny.
And I don’t mean to brag (except I totally do), but Ana’s self portrait was the best in the class.
