I love the idea of being productive. I’m not talking about the kind of productivity that I’m forced to perform because I’m a stay-at-home-mom to four little ones. I’m talking about a more creative kind of productivity. The kind where I organize my recipes or read lots of books or study gastronomy or finish some number of crafty projects.
I love the idea of New Year’s resolutions. But they are quickly forgotten and I never do live up to my own expectations. Frankly, they make me feel bad. And my one New Year’s resolution is to not do anything that makes me feel bad.
Last year, I totally abandoned any hope of productivity and elected to be blatantly unproductive. How’s that for inspiring?
So I’ve decided that this year choose to focus on what I have accomplished throughout the year.
At least I can say I’m ending the year in optimism rather than cynicism.
- Grew a human
- Ran a 3K with Caleb
- Made one, two, three Waldorf dolls
- Made three flannel PJs for Caleb
- Made one flannel nightgown for Ana
- Went to the gym my entire pregnancy
- Signed Coco up for dog training
- Discovered Legos
- Read seven books
- Took a lot of naps and didn’t feel guilty about it
