We spent Memorial Day checking out a few of the gorgeous national parks we have here on the Central Coast (of California). Our first stop was to Point Lobos. There were a few Harbor seals hanging out on the rock.
The girls enjoying the view…
Another picture of the small cove. I just love the colors! Blues and browns sprinkled with red, yellow and green. God really is a brilliant artist!
We also visited Pfeiffer Big Sur National Park to check out how it would be for camping. Excellent, we concluded! Then we ate lunch at Nepenthe, which I believe is owned by relatives of Kaffe Fassett.
We had the most gorgeous view! It was an outrageously expensive lunch, but sometimes you have to forget about the money and just enjoy life.
Shane ordered the most incredible Eggs Benedict. I don’t know how they did it, but the egg white looked like whipped cream! I took about 20 pictures of it, none of which satisfyingly captured the yumminess. I had to stop because Shane was getting annoyed. I tried to tell him I was being cute, not annoying. But he didn’t buy it.
We saw a pelican flying by!
There are many things I dislike about California. But for me, this makes it all worth it.
