Yesterday morning I had my usual volunteer time at the library. But the kids are on fall break so I brought them with me. That was really fun actually to have them there and they behaved so well. Made me think that my dream of opening a used children’s book store would be really awesome.
After that we went geocaching around the area. We found one at the Pacific Grove Natural History Museum.
We had our first DNF (did not find) at the little park next to Chautaugua Hall. It’s the first nano we looked for so many we need a little more experience.
I was starving and getting grumpy so we went to Peppers for lunch. It was pretty expensive, $45 with tip, for the four of us. Of course the kids picked the most expensive items on the kid’s menu. But we never eat out and we didn’t have Eliza with us so I wanted to try it out. They behaved really well and the food was really good. They put a ton of cheese on the kid’s food and they thought that was really exciting to pull the cheese apart.
Charlotte and Caleb ordered the nachos…
I ordered chicken tamale and mushroom and artichoke enchilada. The tamale was okay but the enchilada was soooo good! I’m not a foodie and for the most part eat because I have to. But this enchilada was definitely savored.
And the hot red salsa was really good too! Got some to go for Shane to try.
It thundered and rained a little today! For a few minutes. It’s really funny watching my kids grow up in a drought. They get so excited. And when there is dew all over the van in the morning one of them usually says “LOOK! It rained!” They have no idea.
