I finally cleaned my house. It wasn’t actually bothering that much. I think because the speed of filth has slowed immensely since the kids left. But I noticed that the extent of filth is so great that it’s going to take me a few days to get some areas thoroughly cleaned.
I have two big projects, or maybe three, that I want to get done while the kids are gone. I started one today! The last time Dad visited, he helped me figure out what is under my carpet. I pulled up the carpet in a few places and I thought there were 24″ red tiles. But he said that it’s actually the foundation and it’s red tinted concrete, with scored lines put in by hand.
It’ll be a lot cheaper to rip up the carpet and pretty up the floor rather than pay $8,000+ for laminate wood floors, as we were planning. Plus, I think it’s so cool because these are the floors that they used when the house was built 60 years ago!
